Ocean County is nestled right along the famous Jersey Shore in the heart of New Jersey. One of the fastest growing counties in NJ, with Lakewood as its most populated city and Jackson, NJ being its largest city in size, covering over 100 square miles. Monmouth County is the most northern county along the jersey shore and is also the highest populated county in Central New Jersey. The county seat is Freehold Borough and the most populated city is middletown, NJ. Average income in Monmouth County is approximately $70,000. Monmouth County was established in 1683. The infamous Battle of Monmouth was fought in Freehold Township with George Washington defeating the British in what is one of the longest battles in the Revolutionary war in 1778.
Monmouth County is widely known for its boating and fishing activities, caressing the Atlantic Ocean with waterways that quickly take you to lower New York City. Fishing along the Jersey Shore is huge. Stripers, Blues, Blackfish, Cod, and Ling, are just a few of the 100’s of types of fish anglers go crazy for along the Jersey Shore.
